After enrolling in her first horticulture course at UC Davis in 1986, Lynn C. Johnson discovered a deep passion for plants. The intersection of plant science and outdoor spatial design offered her an ideal creative and professional path—landscape architecture.

Lynn begins each project by reviewing existing site plans and meeting with clients to gather as much information as possible. This initial phase lays the foundation for her conceptual design process. She starts with loose, exploratory sketches to develop preliminary ideas, which she shares with clients in a highly collaborative manner. Through iterative feedback, she refines the designs, incorporating the client’s preferences and suggestions until a final concept is agreed upon.

Once the design is approved, Lynn prepares the construction documents. These may include a detailed plan specifying the quantity, size, and species of each plant, as well as irrigation plans, lighting layouts, hardscape designs, and construction details for elements such as walkways, fences, gates, pools, outdoor kitchens, patios, and fireplaces. In addition to design work, Lynn recommends qualified contractors and provides project administration services to ensure design integrity, management of  last minute adjustments, and maintains overall quality throughout construction.

Passionate about the creative process, Lynn is dedicated to designing outdoor environments that positively impact the lives of her clients. With specialized training in therapeutic garden design, she focuses on creating tranquil, restorative spaces that promote healing and well-being. Above all, Lynn’s goal is to deliver landscapes that her clients can take pride in and truly enjoy.
